When to wait on purpose
Not everything needs your attention now. WAH protects attention through deliberate sequencing.
Not everything needs your attention now.
Some work is important but not actionable yet. WAH can tell you when to wait — and remember why. That is more intelligent than a snooze feature, and there is research that deliberate planning around when to act can improve self-regulation and follow-through.

Why wait?
WAH doesn’t defer work because it’s unimportant. It defers work because acting now has low value. A task can be important without being the right next action. No active dependency · No deadline pressure · Starting now adds noise, not progress — and WAH explains why under Why wait?, the deferral twin of Why this?. What WAH protects
Legal is blocked. Interviews are actionable. Don’t: Pricing one-pager → half-finished work. Do: Interviews → Product brief → Launch. That’s not procrastination. That’s sequencing. WAH isn’t telling you to procrastinate. It’s sequencing the work so your 20 minutes protect the launch path instead of creating noise.

Where it resurfaces
Postpone isn’t archive. WAH remembers the decision and the condition that made it reasonable to wait. When the blocker clears, the deadline approaches, or the work becomes the best fit for your window, it comes back. This is a conditional deferral system, not a snooze button. It doesn’t remove the work — it changes when WAH considers it relevant.
Important doesn’t mean now. WAH knows the difference. Add the real deadline or change the dependency — WAH will reconsider it against deadline + dependency + goal + effort + available time + ownership + urgency, not deadline → P1 → panic. Priority (what matters?) + Context (what fits now?) + Deferral (what can safely wait?) — the best next action isn’t always the most important task; it’s the highest-leverage actionable move now. Sometimes the correct recommendation is: don’t touch this yet.
